Beatson Cancer Charity supports people affected by cancer, every step of the way. We make the journey easier by transforming the way cancer care is funded and delivered. We provide services, as well as funding specialists, research and education to invest in a better future for cancer patients.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

My husband Phil, our friend Caroline Mitchell, and myself, are taking on the 5K at EMF to raise funds for Beatson Cancer Charity, in memory of my son Fraser, aged 18.

Phil, Caroline, and I want to raise money in Fraser's memory and to support his wishes any way we can. This 5K challenge is a tough one for us but we are determined. We've been told "this is not a fun run" so training has started!!

Fraser wanted people to know about his experience so he wrote about this in his brain tumour journey. In Fraser’s words, “ Mum, if my story helps just one person, I’ll be happy. I don’t want what’s happened to me to happen to other people.” A photograph of this journey, in Fraser’s words, is included in the photo gallery.

As part of Brain Tumour Awareness month, Foysal Choudhury MBE MSP, raised a Member’s Business debate in Holyrood on current funding and diagnosis pathways for Brain Tumours. As part of this debate, Fraser’s symptoms poster was shared by Jackson Carlaw, MSP. You can see the poster in the photo gallery.

Fraser produced the poster to make people aware of symptoms that could be easily missed. In sharing his own symptoms, it was always Fraser’s hope to help someone else.

The three main symptoms are,

- Dizziness

- Headache

- Nauseous or Sickness

He wanted to help increase awareness and raise money to support brain tumour research in young people.

This is Fraser's legacy.

We would love for you to donate whatever you can, every penny makes a difference.

Thanks again,

Caroline and Phil (Fraser’s mum and stepdad).
