London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

The charity's three helicopters and four rapid response vehicles operate 365 days a year, with doctors and paramedics on board providing enhanced prehospital care to people across the entire North West region.

Story

I am hoping to raise funds for North West Air Ambulance by running the London Marathon in my full flight suit. This includes the helmet that we wear during flight, the trousers and jacket, which are made from fire retardant material, along with boots. This uniform weighs 4kg in total, so will be quite challenging!! Along with raising hopefully lots of funds, I’m also attempting a Guinness World Record by wearing my flight suit!

I have worked as a Critical Care Paramedic for North West Air Ambulance for the past 13 years, and really see the difference it can make to people’s lives. We receive no government funding so rely on donations to keep the service running 365 days a year.
