Caroline's fundraiser for Beat

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
As most of you know our amazing daughter Millie fought an eating disorder for a number of years. Sadly on 22nd of April 2024 she succumbed to her disorder at the age of 19.
I want to raise funds for BEAT to try and reduce the suffering for individuals enduring an eating disorder allowing them access to assistance, support & guidance whilst moving towards recovery. I also want to ensure there is help available for the family & friends who support their person 24/7. It really is not an easy job to do.
I am no runner but Millie was a fabulous runner and it seems only fitting that I do this in her memory as it was something she always wanted to do but sadly will never get the chance.
My marathon will not be fast and most definitely not pretty. I am sure Millie will be out there laughing somewhere at how rubbish I am at this but I will get round and hopefully do her proud.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us since the unfathomable happened and who continue to support us every day.
Beat is the UK's eating disorders charity. We exist to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. We are a champion, guide and friend to anyone affected, giving individuals experiencing an eating disorder and their loved ones a place where they feel listened to, supported and empowered.
We predict 1.25 million people are affected by these serious mental illnesses. Eating disorders can be deeply isolating for the people affected by them. Our online support groups and training for carers allow people to talk to others with similar experiences, helping them to feel less alone with their eating disorder. We run phone and email helplines for anyone who needs us. Often when people get in touch its the first time they've voiced their concerns about themselves or a loved one.
