On Sunday 21st September a group of volunteers from Horse Sense Wirral - including me - are doing a sponsored walk to Hilbre Island (a tidal island in the Dee Estuary) to raise funds for getting HSW ready for the winter (amongst other things paying someone to remove our giant and ever growing muck heap!). I'm joining them - I've not been much use this year due to an injured arm but I can walk.

It's only a 4 mile round trip hence my low fund raising target - but it's also my birthday this week so it's a joint walk/birthday fund raiser for HSW.

I've been volunteering at HSW for 8 years now and it's kept me happy, sane and grounded through some fairly turbulent times - and seeing the change in the horses (and other animals - we have goats, sheep, ducks, a pig, rabbits, fish and a rooster!) makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Please give what you can. Even 50p helps as it all adds up.
