On 6th October 2024 I will be running Cardiff half marathon to raise money for Red Community. I am so grateful for your support!

On 6th October last year, I was 36 weeks pregnant and putting on my own socks was the peak of my physical challenge! Earlier this year, I signed up for the half marathon in a postpartum moment of sleep deprived madness, despite not owning a pair of running shoes and having never run more than 6 miles in one go. Since then I've completed the Couch to 5k and have been building up my mileage gradually - and have even found myself enjoying the freedom of being able to use my body in this way!

I want to use my freedom to help those who don't have any. Red Community is an amazing Cardiff-based Christian charity that fights for the trafficked, exploited and enslaved in Wales and beyond. It shocked me to learn that William Wilberforce's famous Slavery Abolition Act was passed in 1833 and yet in 2023 there were an estimated 130,000 people trapped in slavery in the UK.
