Story
I've always had ridiculously long hair, and I love it. In fact, most people who know me have probably never seen me with anything else! So, it may come as a bit of a shock that I've decided to chop it all off to raise money for charity.
Cancer has touched my family and friends far too many times. When I was 5, my mum was diagnosed with cancer. A year later, we lost my Auntie Pat to the disease. Since then, several aunts and uncles have faced their own battles, as have my brother, my dad, and one of my best friends. Sadly, most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer, and we know just how devastating it can be.
I'm a proud member of Leek Rock Choir, and this year we're supporting the Dougie Mac. They do incredible work for patients and families when they need it most, so I wanted to do something meaningful to help raise funds for them.
So, after years of hanging on to my long hair, the time has come for it to go! If you'd like to support a fantastic cause (and witness the end of an era), I'd be incredibly grateful for any donation, big or small.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for supporting this wonderful charity. Every donation will help Dougie Mac continue the amazing work they do for people facing some of life's toughest challenges.
And don't worry... hair grows back. Hopefully.
Donating through JustGiving is quick, easy and completely secure. Your details are safe, and your donation goes directly to the charity, making it one of the most efficient ways to give.
