Story

Climbing for Autism – One Step at a Time

My name is Caroline, and I wanted to do something meaningful that would challenge me while supporting a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.

This year, I will be taking on the challenge of climbing Scafell Pike to raise money and awareness for autism.

This cause is deeply personal to me. As a grandmother to autistic grandchildren, I have seen first-hand both the incredible strengths and the daily challenges that autism can bring. I know how demanding life can be for parents, grandparents, carers, and families who dedicate themselves every day to supporting autistic children.

Thankfully, I won’t be climbing alone. I’ll be joined by a fantastic group of friends

– Sarah, Kelly, Lisa, Leah, Violet, Kathleen, Josie, Elizabeth, Joanne and Annmarie too!

There will no doubt be plenty of laughs, encouragement and sore legs along the way, but together we’ll be taking on this challenge for a cause that is very close to our hearts.

Autism affects not only the individual but the whole family. Behind every diagnosis is a family navigating appointments, education, understanding, acceptance, and often significant emotional and financial pressures. While there are moments of great joy and achievement, there can also be moments of exhaustion, worry, and isolation.

That is why I have decided to step outside my comfort zone and take on this climb. Every step I take up the mountain will be for autistic children, their families, and the people who support them every day.

I am asking for your support, no matter how big or small. Every donation will help raise awareness and provide support for autism-related causes that offer essential services, resources, and assistance to families who need them.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing my page. Your support, encouragement and kindness mean the world to us and will help keep us going when the climb gets tough.

Together, we can make a difference for autistic children and their families.

Thank you for supporting our journey and helping us raise awareness for autism.
