🚶♀️ The Big Walk Fundraiser 2025 🚶♂️
Dates: 26th May – 8th June Final Walk & Gathering: 8th June, 11am, Hyde Park Fundraising for: RESTART Lives
From 26th May to 8th June, I’ll be taking on The Big Walk Fundraiser —a personal commitment to walk (20,000 steps) every single day in support of people experiencing homelessness and social exclusion.
Over these 14 days, I’ll be reflecting on the daily realities faced by those living without stable shelter, while raising vital funds for RESTART Lives, a charity that supports people as they move from street homelessness towards independence.
Then, on Saturday 8th June at 11am, you're invited to join me in Hyde Park for a community walk—a shared lap around the park to mark the end of the challenge. It’s an opportunity to walk together, connect, and share the reflections, struggles, and inspiration gathered throughout this journey.
Why Are We Doing This?
People experiencing homelessness often walk 10–15 miles every day just to meet basic needs—finding food, shelter, and safety.
Unlike a relaxing “mental health walk,” this daily walking is exhausting, dangerous, and damaging to their health.
At RESTART, we regularly see blisters, open wounds, and untreated injuries caused by constant walking with little rest or proper footwear.
We're raising awareness about this harsh reality—and the toll it takes.
We're also raising funds to support RESTART’s work to prevent and alleviate homelessness.
The Impact of RESTART:
Served 14,000+ hot meals last year
Distributed vital supplies like sleeping bags, coats, and warm clothing
Supported 165+ individuals with one-to-one casework
Helped 85% of guests move forward with their goals
After 12 months or less:
1 in 3 moved into permanent housing
1 in 2 improved their housing situation
