Story

Growing up I was short, fat and dumpy and hated exercise. When Kate became ill with Pancreatic Cancer, I wanted to do something that I would never do to raise money so I ..............Ran!

My first half marathon was in the Forest of Dean and Kate was at the end to give me a much needed hug. Next Half Marathon was Tewkesbury but unfortunately no hug as Kate had passed by this time. Every year now, I do a half in her memory. It has been 10 years now and I am about to undertake the biggest mission of my life.... two half marathons in one go!... Yes, I'm running The TCS London Marathon!

I always said when I started running that I would NEVER do a marathon. Until last year when, on a whim, I entered the ballot as my friends had done the same. Honestly, I was quite relieved when I didn't get in. Then I find that the Angels Running Club for whom I run, has 1 place every year to allocate, giving me another chance. So I thought... let's give it a go! ...low and behold I got in!

This is probably going to be the biggest thing I've ever done, in line with getting married and having two beautiful children. I believe this was meant to be. Alongside my love of running, I also love my job at The Milestone School as an Outdoor Learning Teacher. Supporting the School is something else that is close to my heart.

Please help me to raise lots of money so that I can split it between these two great causes.

The Milestone School is a wonderful school for children aged 3-16, all with a special educational need. There are 330+ pupils all of whom possess a learning difficulty that is Severe (SLD), Profound & Multiple (PMLD), within the Severe Autistic Spectrum (ASC) or they possess another genetic condition. I am supporting our PTA, The Friends of The Milestone School, to provide some extra special experiences for our children, please help me to support them.
