Story
On Friday 27th June we are cycling about 140 miles across Ireland from Galway to Dublin over 3 days. We are raising money for the Alice Ruggles Trust. Alice was a bright bubbly person who tragically had her life taken from her by her ex boyfriend who stalked her then went on to murder her. The trust was started to help bring awareness of the dangers of coercion, control and stalking and working with the police and other professional to bring improvements in the management of perpetrators and the protection of the victim.
The trusts mission is to educate young people about the risks of stalking and how to respond.
Key Activities:
1. Education and Awareness: Delivering school assemblies & lessons on healthy relationships. Providing resources to raise awareness among young people and professionals.
2. Professional Training: Training for professionals to recognize and respond to stalking. Offering specialized training for criminal justice, social, and healthcare professionals.
3. Support and Advice: Providing information and advice for stalking victims and potential perpetrators. Offering services for professionals working with victims or perpetrators.
