Story
In a moment of madness I decided to sign up for the Jo Cox Way 2025.
In July I will join about 100 other cyclists and ride from West Yorkshire to London, a hilly (almost) 300 miles over 5 days. Riding day after day, whatever the British weather throws at us, will certainly be a challenge. I will be fuelled only be pedal power, cake power and your support.
We are a bunch of cyclists of different abilities and backgrounds coming together to share stories, enjoy the ride and at the same time raise money for the Jo Cox foundation.
Jo was a passionate campaigner, activist and humanitarian; a proud Yorkshire lass and internationalist; and a devoted mum, daughter, sister, wife, friend and MP.
After her life was tragically cut short, the Jo Cox Foundation was set up to honour her legacy: it works to promote fairness and respect in politics and supports grassroots projects that bring diverse communities together and tackle loneliness..
The charity's work brings to life the message "more in common" and spreads hope in our increasingly polarised world.
I would really appreciate any donations, however small.
Thank you.
