Story
Having recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and having received my treatment plan, I’m unfortunately going to have to part with my hair. Anyone that knows me knows how attached i am to my long locks but unfortunately i will have to lose it in order to get better, which i will 😊💪🏻
The Little Princess Trust is a charity very close to my heart, having witnessed the devastating effects of cancer on children and young people. I thought rather than watch it disappear down the shower drain, it feels only right to cut it off while its still healthy and donate it to an incredibly worthy cause ❤️
I’m not quite feeling brave enough for the full head shave just yet but i’m hoping to donate 15 inches of hair, which will allow a child or young person to have a long human hair wig, which there is currently a shortage of in the medical field due to the increasing demand in the cosmetic industry (hair extensions etc). Donating the hair alone is not enough, the charity is entirely ran on donations, therefore id like to send the hair off with enough money to pay for at least the processing of the hair and the costs of making it into a wig. I appreciate its a tough time for lots of people financially but anything you could spare as a donation would make such a difference to the charity, the research they undertake and the affected children, i also would be eternally grateful.
More info on the charity: The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
