Bog Run 2023 · 15 October 2023 ·

The Bog Run is back on Sunday 15th October 2023 & this year we have a new junior course on offer! The muddiest 5k around is getting bigger & boggier, & every pound raised will help Cancer Fund for Children ensure no child has to face cancer alone

Story

On the 3rd August, my very dear sister in law Jemma McGowan passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. This wonderful charity was so close to Jemmas heart and on Sunday 15th October 2023, I am taking on the Bog Run at Castlewellan Forest Park to help Cancer Fund for Children ensure no child has to face cancer alone. I will be doing this along with Jemmas husband Clive, and her dear friend Clodagh.

Cancer treatment is frightening, challenging, and isolating and can devastate families emotionally, physically, and financially.

For a diagnosed child, months of gruelling treatment and its side effects can impact their mental health, their education, and their friendships. This is also an extremely worrying time for siblings who can feel like the forgotten child, and for parents struggling to care for a child with cancer, whilst working and maintaining a family routine.

Cancer Fund for Children need our support to ensure these families receive the right support at the right time.

Any donations you can give towards my challenge would be most sincerely appreciated. Every pound can make a big difference. We will get mucked to the eyeballs but lots of fun will be had with Jemma cheering us all on high in the sky while holding a gin❤️.

Let's get boggin!
