Carrie Phillips is raising money for Rowcroft Hospice

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro · 3 September 2026

This September 2026, an incredible group of supporters will come together to climb Mount Kilimanjaro—Africa’s highest peak—all in aid of Rowcroft Hospice.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have set myself the hardest challenge to date: climbing one of the highest free-standing mountains in the world - Mount Kilimanjaro. Standing at a staggering 5,895 metres above sea level, this will undoubtedly be the toughest challenge I have ever undertaken. It will take 7 days of hiking to complete Kilimanjaro (up & back down). Temperatures will go from around 26 degrees at the bottom down to around -10+ at the top. I will be in a group of roughly 15-20 people & we will be camping along the way. I am committed to preparing thoroughly and raising funds for an incredible cause.

I will be climbing in aid of Rowcroft Hospice, a charity dedicated to making every day the best day possible for individuals living with life-limiting illnesses across South Devon. They provide comfort and support to families during their most challenging times. Regardless of diagnosis or circumstance, Rowcroft is there for those in need. Their services are available free of charge to anyone over 18 years old who is living with a life-limiting illness, along with their families.

Rowcroft Hospice is an independent charity that relies heavily on donations to continue their vital work in providing a wide range of specialist palliative care. My goal is to raise £5,650 by September 3rd, 2026, and I need your help to achieve this.

Please consider donating towards this remarkable charity and join me on my journey as I take on Mount Kilimanjaro. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on Rowcroft's compassionate care. Thank you in advance for your generosity and for following my adventure.
