Story
The Carron Family, with the help of our guide, Stuart Hamiliton, will be hiking the Mournes 7 summits on the 19th of May in order to raise money for Marie Curie. This is approximately an 18 mile hike, which consists of the 7 highest peaks in the Mourne Mountains.
This charity provided support to our Mother, Marie, and our Father, Seamus, during their individual battles with Cancer.
Marie Curie offer Hospice care at home and this support was invaluable to us but due to lack of funding it wasn't always available. Their expert nursing and personal care gave us respite when we were fortunate enough to avail of their service. We were thankful as a family to be able to care for both Mammy and Daddy at home through all stages of their illness but understand the many challenges that come with it. If we can play even a small part in helping to alleviate the challenges for other families we wish to do so.
All donations will be gratefully appreciated and will no doubt help to financially support this amazing charity to continue doing the incredible and valuable work that it offers.
A little bit about the charity
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And we push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and we need your support to do our vital work.
