Carys' Fundraiser For Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity

Principality Cardiff Half Marathon 2024 · 6 October 2024 ·
Thank you so much for supporting me as I take on the Cardiff Half Marathon in 2024!
I am raising money for Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity, who do so much for children and their families. Families like mine.
Our Story
By 3 months of age, my little fighter had already seen countless GP's and had been admitted to the children's ward at Morriston Hospital for a severe cow's milk allergy. After her eventual CMPA diagnosis, we thought we were finally out of the woods.
Sadly, at 6 months old a chest infection took a turn for the worst, and ended up spreading to her hip. She became very poorly, very quickly. We knew it was bad when nurses started gathering around us, silently looking on with concerned expressions.
After countless tests and a few nights at Morriston Hospital, G was transferred via ambulance to Noah's Ark Children's Hospital. It was such a scary time for us all. But thankfully we were met by a dedicated team of consultants, doctors and nurses who were committed to making G better.
She was taken to surgery a few hours after arriving having been diagnosed with septic arthritis in the hip. They needed to drain the infection or it might infect the bone and lead to further complications or worse.
Nothing can prepare you for having to watch your baby fall to a deep, lifeless sleep in your arms.
Thankfully, the surgery was a success and G started acting more herself in no time. The care we received by all of the staff at the hospital was next to none. We honestly cannot thank them enough.
And so, here I am! I want to give back to the hospital that gave us so much. I want to raise money to help them care for the most sick and vulnerable children in Wales.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal - thank you!
