Ed's fundraiser for Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire

Ed Phillis is raising money for Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire

Tour of South Gloucestershire Citizens Advice Drop-In Centres · 10 September 2026

We provide free, impartial, accurate and independent advice to all residents within South Gloucestershire. We aim to improve the long-term economic and social well-being of the communities within South Gloucestershire and improve the policies and practices that affect peoples lives.

Story

Can you help me raise money through my 'Tour De CAB' for Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire?

This is an amazing, independent advice charity which supports the community in South Gloucestershire. We helped more than 7,000 people last year with a wide range of issues that can affect anyone.

The charity runs a range of projects like the one I work on - Help To Claim, which helps people make a first-time Universal Credit claim.

And it also has a series of free advice drop-ins across South Gloucestershire, where people can get advice in their local area without having to travel further afield.

Tour de CAB - visiting each of our drop-ins

To raise awareness about the brilliant work which happens in these drop-ins - as well as vital funds for our charity as a whole - I'm going to cycle to all 12 drop-in locations in a single day.

On Thursday 10th September I'll be setting off on my mountain bike for a 33-mile ride, visiting:

Thornbury Town Hall

Bradley Stoke Jubilee Centre

The Community Centre, Stoke Gifford

FACE in Filton

Page Hall in Staple Hill

Kingsmeadow@MadeForever in Kingswood

Cadbury Heath Juice Project

Emersons Green Village Hall

Lyde Green Community Centre

Westerleigh Village Hall

Frampton Cotterell Brockeridge Centre

and finally our Advice Centre in Yate

You can come to any of these places during our session times - without an appointment - for free, independent and confidential advice. We often help with issues like benefits, debt, housing, cost-of-living and employment but it can be practically anything else too.

Visit our website to find the days of the week and times all of these drop-ins are open. ( https://www.southgloscab.org.uk/get-advice/visit-us/ )

Watch my colleague Peter explain how one of the sessions works here:

Please help Tour de CAB reach its target

You can help me, our charity and the people we help by donating towards my fundraiser.

£5 will pay for a week’s worth of tea, coffee & biscuits for local residents visiting our warm space.

£10 will pay for a Volunteer to help a disabled person claim Personal Independence Payment

£20 will pay for bespoke Energy Advice to a local person in fuel poverty

£50 will pay for a Specialist Debt caseworker to help someone in debt crisis

Not many people know that we're dependent on donations and grants to keep doing what we do - so anything you can contribute will be hugely appreciated.
