Story
On the 17th October we’ll be hosting our annual breast cancer awareness walk in which we do a pub crawl from The Fox and Crown back to our pub. We raised an amazing amount of money last year making so much we managed to give some extra donations to the fishponds in Tibshelf and to Tibshelf infants school !
This said this years walk will be slightly different we are going to be raising money for two causes for the ‘wear it pink’ campaign and to the Palliative care at Kings Mill Hospice. The reason as to why is this year has been a tough one for our team, unfortunately myself Mimi and Chelsea lost our mamar to cancer which she had been fighting for a couple of years and having beaten breast cancer in the past , well she’s truly one of the strongest people we all knew even the doctors could not believe she was still hanging on . Without the help from palliative care she would not have had such a peaceful and comforting end to her life and for this reason we would like to raise some money for them as a THANK YOU for looking after a very special lady who they grew very fond of. Our mamar was truly a mamar everyone would wish for making us laugh till the very end, so that’s why this year we walk to not only walk to raise awareness for breast cancer but also for our Mamar Cath who never stopped fighting.
This said I hope as many of us as possible can walk this year I believe last year there was easily over 100 people which is just amazing, so I expect the same faces this year and hopefully some new ones so make sure to save the date and join us, my team are looking forward to it !
And yes we are still wearing pink don’t worry, it was her favourite colour 💗
Donations - people wishing to donate to the causes this page is purely towards breast cancer research, a lot of you donate with cash anyway so we will be splitting all cash donations between both charities so I can take half to the ward my mamar was treated on just easier for us in that aspect, thank you again for all who have already volunteered to walk !!!
