Story

After leading on 10 British Exploring Society expeditions it’s now time to get Mum in on the action! Nearly 110 years and 1 false hip between us…

Susannah and Elaine are taking on the Thames Towpath challenge, 28km from British Exploring Society kit stores in Putney, joining BES trustees and other supporters in the Chair’s Challenge 2025.

British Exploring Society expeditions give young people from across the UK the chance to build self belief in the outdoors - something we’re both passionate about supporting, and know we’re going to need to take on this challenge!

British Exploring Society has been providing adventurous opportunities for young people since 1932. Today these are accessible to all - no young person pays for their place on expedition, and we’re walking and fundraising to help make sure more young people can take their first steps into the outdoors.

Since 2017 I’ve seen so many examples of the genuinely transformative power of British Exploring Society expeditions, thank you so much for sponsoring our challenge to help many more young people take on theirs!
