Swim the river. Change a life…
In July 2026 I’m taking on one of the UK’s most iconic open water swims, a tidal journey through the stunning Aune Estuary in South Devon.
It’s a proper challenge. Fast-flowing water, beautiful scenery, and hundreds of swimmers all chasing that final moment:
The Boomerang swim starts at Bantham Beach, with swimmers heading upriver on the incoming tide. When the tide turns, so do the swimmers, swimming back downriver with the outgoing tide, swooshing into Bantham Beach and the finish line.
The distance covered will depend on my swim speed and how far I can get before the tide turns. Typically swimmers cover between 5-10k
This is a personal challenge for me, not a race. It will be the furthest distance I’ve swam, so far. To complete this challenge I am starting a training plan to build up my speed and endurance ready for the big day.
I will be sharing updates on my progress and hope to receive encouragement as well as sponsorship.
All money raised will go to Level Water – a brilliant charity providing 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities. These lessons are joyful, empowering, and completely life-changing.
Every £15 raised gives a child the chance to learn to swim.
If you can, please sponsor me – it really will make a difference 🏊♀️🌊🥰
