Story
I’ve run before, for local food banks, hospices and NHS charities —but this time, I’m running with a heavier heart and a deeper purpose.
Like many of you, I have watched with horror the unimaginable suffering unfolding in Gaza. As an MP, I’ve spoken up in Parliament, demanding action, justice, and humanitarian support for the Palestinian people.
For a long term peace it’s a political solution that delivers justice for Palestinians and peace for all those in the region and I remain committed to using my voice as an MP to deliver a two-state solution with a viable Palestinian state alongside a secure Israel.
But right now, it’s vital we get aid into Gaza.
That’s why I’m lacing up my running shoes and for the first time taking on the Great Scottish Run half marathon—to raise vital funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). MAP provides emergency healthcare, medicines, and lifesaving support in Gaza and across Palestine. Their work is urgent, courageous, and life-changing.
Every step I take is for those who can’t. For the children in overcrowded hospitals. For the families without clean water or electricity. For the doctors working against impossible odds.
If you can, please support my run by donating to MAP. Whether it’s £5 or £50, your contribution will go directly to providing critical aid where it’s needed most.
Together, let’s turn compassion into action.
