Cat dances for Strictly glory?!!

Cat Williams is raising money for Hospice of the Good Shepherd

Hospice Strictly · 6 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

On Saturday 6th September 2025 we are holding our own Hospice Strictly dance event inspired by the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ TV show, featuring local contestants paired with professional dancers, all competing for the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Story

Dancing Shoes… Don’t Fail Me Now! 💃

When I was five years old, I fell in love with dance. Ballet, tap, and twirling around the living room! At 11, I even wrote to the Hammond School of Dance asking for a prospectus!

Now - years later - I’m stepping out of my comfort zone (and into ballroom shoes and sequins!) to take part in Strictly Hospice alongside professionals from the Hammond School itself.

Talk about a full-circle “pinch me” moment!

Yes, I’m nervous. There’s a live audience. There are judges. And there’s the little matter of learning a real ballroom routine.

But more than all that, I feel a HUGE responsibility to raise funds for a cause that is close to so many hearts, including mine.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services completely free of charge to patients and families at the most difficult time of their lives.

It costs £5.2 million a year to keep those services going, and only 17% of that comes from government support. The remaining 83% relies entirely on fundraising, donations, local charity shops, and their weekly lottery—and that’s where you and I come in.

So I’m dancing. Nervously. Enthusiastically. Slightly off-beat at times. But with all my heart.

And if you’re able to donate - even just a little - you’ll be helping me reach two big goals:

Hit my fundraising target for this amazing cause

Hit the beat when the music starts (!)

Let’s raise the roof, raise the funds, and raise some eyebrows and cheers on the night! 💃🕺

Thank you for being part of my glittery, nerve-wracking, deeply meaningful Strictly adventure.
