Catherine & Stephen Hubbard taking the challenge

Stephen Hubbard is raising money for Prostate Cancer Research

Trek for Change: PCR's Freedom Trail Trek · 16 September 2025 to 21 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

For the first time, a team of PCR's top supporters are taking on the challenge of a lifetime, the Freedom Trail Trek, in a bid to raise £100,000 in the fight for a world free from the impact of the prostate cancer, for every family.

Story

Siblings Catherine and Stephen are taking on two big challenges in 2025 on behalf of Prostate Cancer Research. On 31 May the “Snowdonia for Science” multipeak challenge is a 23km walk with 1,519m of ascent over five peaks. Then in September, an even more challenging four day trek, from Saint Girons, France to Esterri d’Aneu, Spain along one of the escape routes over the rugged terrain of the high, central Pyrenees, “Le Chemin de la Liberté”.

Over those four days we will cover 72km but the bigger challenge is of the 3,312m of climbing, reaching over 2,500m in altitude on both the third and fourth days.

The ground breaking research funded by PCR is particularly impressive in its scope and quality and we are very keen to support it. Our training has already started but will increase in intensity over the intervening months, increasing distance, more challenging terrain and carrying greater weight on our backs.

We will be very grateful for any support on this adventure.
