Maggie's Highlands Cancer Support

Maggie's Highlands Run the Runway 2023 · 26 August 2023 ·
When my dad got diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, the Maggies Highland centre helped my family with some great advice and support.
The centre in Inverness is such a welcoming place for families dealing with the shock and worry that a cancer diagnosis brings and I'd like to try and help them continue their great work.
I'm about to undertake one of the hardest challenges of my life, which is the Dragon's Back Race (DBR) https://www.dragonsbackrace.com/the-route
Covering 380km (236miles) over 6 days, the route runs over the bumpiest bits of Wales with 17,400m of ascent (& descent) - that's like running up and down Everest - twice!
As my final training run, I'm taking part in the 5km Run-the-Runway- Inverness with Oscar and Hugo on Sat 26th Aug at midnight. They're running with me in memory of their grandpa Eric. The boys have been a great support to me during my DBR training - encouraging me out of the house to go training in the rain and getting meals sorted, so I can be out on long training runs.
I'm fortunate that I have the choice to be leaving the house for long periods, but for families going through cancer treatment, children often have to step up and help whether they're ready or not - so anything we can do to help the Maggies centre, which provides great support to families, is worth it.
If you can make a donation, we and Maggie's Highland would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
