Story
St Mary's hospice holds a very special place in a lot of our hearts and has provided the best care to many of my own friends and family. Its my turn to give something back.
Since 1988 St Mary’s Hospice has been open to patients and their loved ones. And now, more than ever St Mary's charity needs your support to keep on providing care, comfort and support to our patients and their families and carers.
The incredible team of staff and volunteers help with end of life care, symptom management, Living Well services, respite care and family and bereavement support. St Mary’s services are free of charge to our community but they are not free to provide. It costs over £4.7m a year to keep the hospice open and services running, with 22% of our funding from the NHS, the rest comes directly from the amazing and wonderful community.
I have a personal connection with St Mary's Hospice and I also love a challenge. Climbing Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro in support of St Mary's Hospice ticks both boxes. I plan to do this trek in January 2026 and will be fundraising over the coming year.
I would love you all to follow my journey and help me raise as much money as possible for this amazing cause.
