Story

Southmead Hospital Charity is the official charity of North Bristol NHS Trust. Working with their dedicated donors and fundraisers, and together with Trust colleagues, they aim to deliver world-class projects and comforting items over and above what the NHS funds. From pioneering research, cutting-edge equipment, and healing spaces, to patient, family and staff support, donations make the biggest difference to patients at NBT. Every pound donated stays local, enriching the healthcare the Trust provides to over one million people every year.

The Bishop Fleming Bath and Bristol offices have a fundraising target of £20,000 for this year to go to Southmead Hospital, anything you can spear would be greatly appreciated.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is 24-miles (38.6km) round trip route, with 1585m (5200ft) of ascent. The peaks are Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), usually climbed in that order, and usually in under 12 hours. These hills form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

If you know me, you know I've done a number of long-distance hikes - some sponsored, some just for "fun" (type-two fun) - but never one that's incorporated this distance and three mountains. It's going to be a challenge for sure!!
