Story

I first ran the Marathon 20 years ago to celebrate turning 30. It was the result of an evening involving too much wine and a bit of a bet. Running had never been my thing, I couldnt even do the 800m at school with out having an asthma attack. When I started I had never run further than 2 miles, the training was a huge mental battle where I showed sheer bloody mindedness can help you achieve so much, I had decided I was going to achieve this, so I did. Crossing that finish line was the most amazing experience that I will never forget. Now 20 years later as I have turned 50 i thought why not do it again, so here I am in full on training. This time has turned out to be a far bigger battle than I expected, the body at 50 is not as forgiving and I am having to work hard not just at running but also strengthening. The physical and psychological battle is much harder than I expected but I have finally started to believe I can do this.

I have tried multiple times over the past few years to get a ballot place, but that has not happened :( But thank fully the lovely people at Children with Cancer have agreed to let me run for them. I am delighted to be running for such an amazing charity who do such needed work. Please read below for more insight into what the do. I would be so very grateful if you would sponsor me to do this crazy thing to support this wonderful charity. Think of me out in the cold, wind and rain putting in the miles!
