Story
I am running the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham on September 28th as a tribute to my darling niece Grace O’Malley-Kumar. Grace was tragically killed in Nottingham on June 13th 2023. Her Mum, Dad & brother Sinéad, Sanjoy & James established the Grace O’Malley-Kumar foundation to build an enduring legacy and keep her memory alive. Its mission is to foster Grace’s values of empathy, inclusivity and kindness. Through sport, education and community initiatives the goal of the charity is to help young people to feel valued and included and to encourage us all to "be more like Grace”.
Grace was the eldest grandchild and cousin in the O’Malley family. Number one of ten. She lit up every room she entered and brought joy with her everywhere and we all loved spending time in Grace’s company. She was such great fun to be around and was so very kind to everyone, being a shining example to her younger cousins. Our family will treasure the memories of our time with Gracie forever, she was a truly wonderful person. We will miss her always.
So, I am proud to run the half marathon in Grace's name and will be very grateful for any donations that you can give which will support the Grace O’Malley-Kumar Foundation and its mission to have a positive impact on young people’s lives that Grace herself would be proud of.
