Story

On 25 May 2025, I’ll be taking part in the Great West Run, in aid of Hospiscare. A half marathon is going to be to be challenging as

I still have an injury affecting my right leg but if I can help make things a little easier for those facing a terminal illness or the death of a loved one, that’s what I’m going to do!

Hospiscare is a charity I cherish dearly, both personally and professionally. I have worked for the charity as one of its medical consultants since our big move to Devon nearly 10 years ago. Hospiscare also provided valuable input into Pete’s dad’s care in the last days of his life.

Hospiscare is a local charity, caring for terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Our teams of doctors and nurses offer specialist palliative care, to ensure that patients can make the most of the time they have left.

The organisation has recently been through one of the most challenging times in its history. This is in part due to chronic underfunding from the Government and also due to the impact of the pandemic and cost of living crisis on charitable donations, upon which hospices so heavily rely.

Hospiscare are a vital part of the local healthcare system and I want to help ensure Hospiscare can continue to be there for the community now and in the future.

Please help make a difference by giving whatever you can. Thank you!
