I volunteer as a Befriender for AGE UK Wakefield I started in June 2022 and really enjoy my visits bring to my client. To see the smile on her face every week just makes my heart soar. Sadly she passed away on Saturday 29th April so I’ve decided to help raise funds this month. All money raised during I May Move will go towards our Befriending service and the work this team of staff and volunteers do for older people who feel isolated and lonely. Befriending provides weekly contact in person or over the phone for people who have little or no contact with others. Your fundraising means we can train more volunteers, reduce waiting lists and reach more older people.
