Cath's 2026 Calendar
Each image is designed and produced by Cath Muir using EyeGaze Technology. Eyegaze Technology uses a screen with a camera that picks up eye movements as instructions. Those eye movements activate letters, words or images allowing a person to write messages, play messages or paint a picture, as Cath has done for this calendar. Each image has taken over 10 hours to produce.
Message from the artist Cath Muir:
Hi I am Cath Muir and I’ve been living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) for over ten years. MND is a horrendous disease that takes away the ability to walk, talk, eat, drink, normally use my hands and arms and breathe without the help of a ventilator.
Being the kind of person that hates doing nothing I slowly learnt to paint with my eyes using my EyeGaze machine which I also use for communication using a recording of my voice. This took many months learning to paint. Now I really enjoy painting flowers and more recently animals. I always enjoyed painting so this has given me a purpose in life. It is also a way to fundraise for people in our local area living with MND and also for much needed funds for MND research.
Thank you for buying this calendar. The funds raised go to Cath’s local group - the Hambleton & Richmondshire Group of the MND Association and to fund MND research.
