Today marks 20 years since we lost our wonderful dad, Gavin McClurg.

He was the most amazing dad, husband, brother, uncle, friend, and dentist to so many people. His personality was larger than life, and his kindness towards others is something that has helped guide me through life and keep me strong, even during the hardest times.

To honour his memory, I am taking on a skydive in June 2026 to raise awareness and funds for a charity that is incredibly close to my heart and one that I am proud to be a trustee of — ConfiDental Helpline.

ConfiDental Helpline is a confidential listening service supporting dental professionals who are experiencing emotional distress. Mental health struggles within dentistry are often hidden, and sadly suicide rates within the profession remain far too high.

My aim is to help reduce the stigma around mental health in dentistry and encourage others to reach out early and talk through their problems before they feel alone.

If by raising awareness and supporting this service we can help prevent another family from experiencing the devastating loss of a loved one, then every conversation, donation, and shared post will matter.

Dad always cared deeply for people, and I hope this fundraiser continues that legacy of compassion, support, and kindness.
