On the 6th September I will be running ‘The Big Half’ for Isla's Journey. This will be 13.1 miles through Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham, and Greenwich.

Isla's Journey supports parents faced with unexpected stays in Neonatal Intensive Care Units, providing emergency care packs, wellbeing support and advice to parents in over 92 hospitals & neonatal transfer teams across England, Scotland and Wales. This was all started after founder,Ashley Wiseman, gave birth to twin girls at 24 weeks. Esme was born sleeping but Isla, born at just 1lb 4oz, went on to spend 7 months in NICU and is now a happy and healthy 8 year old. During that time, Ashley saw a big gap in parents needing emergency supplies of toiletries, phone chargers etc. Often families suddenly find themselves transferred to a hospital miles from home with none of the essentials that they need. Just £5 can provide a family with everything they need for a few days and their main focus can remain on their baby.
