Story
Having not run since school and even then having avoided it as much as possible, I have this summer, at the age of 57, completed the Couch to 5K programme. The motivation for this has been to complete my first Park Run with some of my fabulous nieces on 4 Oct - actually the brunch afterwards has been the real motivation!
I appreciate that 5K is hardly a big achievement for most, but all things are relative and for me it represents real progress. I would love if my small achievement could make a big difference and am aiming to raise money for the 'Sit with Hope' campaign by The Good Grief Trust. For £30 the Trust will place a plaques with a QR code, direct to their website, on a bench out in communities across the UK, such as parks, urban spaces, hospital gardens, beach walks, and many more. The aim is for anyone who is grieving, and looking to find advice and support, following a bereavement, to be able to find Help and Hope in one place.
I have set my goal at £150 which would be a bench for each of the 5K - any contribution would be much appreciated. Thank you.
