In 2023 Cats Protection Belfast Adoption Centre helped 680 cats and kittens and our average cat care costs per day was £510.27. Thanks to 2024 being a leap year, we will have an extra day to fund our cat care work on 29th February! An extra day means extra food, extra litter and extra care!
Please can you help us fund this extra day of care this year? Your donation, no matter how big or small can make a real difference and help us to continue our work caring for cats like 2 year old Sammy.
Sammy, came into our care in August last year and is the centre's current longest stay resident. We can't for the life of us figure out why, because a sweeter natured cat you will not find! Sammy was rescued as a stray when he had been shot and injured with a pellet gun by some ill intentioned youths. Thankfully, only minor damage was caused and Sammy was able to be nursed back to full health. Despite Sammy's rough start to life, he hasn't allowed this to impact his trust in people and he can’t wait to find his forever home and make a fresh start in life.
Our target of £510 will help us fund the cost of caring for Sammy and all the other cats and kittens in our centre on 29th February. Cats Protection receives no government funding and so are totally reliant on donations from our supporters. We appreciate times are tight, the minimum donation set by JustGiving is £2 and so anything you can donate will be hugely appreciated. Any funds raised above and beyond our target will go towards our work here in Northern Ireland across the rest of the year. Thank you.
Cats Protection help more cats than any other organisation and we want to help millions more. We are a dedicated community of passionate employees, volunteers, supporters and partners, working together to make life better for millions of cats and the people who care for them.
