Story
Hello lovely people! For my birthday this year, I'm jumping on the stereotype of picking up running in your late 20s and on the 8th of November will be running the 5 Trails Ultra (50 km / 31 miles) across the South Downs to raise some essential funds for Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire (OxSAR).
OxSAR (and all Lowland Rescue teams) are a completely voluntary organisation who assist the police in locating vulnerable missing people and returning them to a safe place and their families. I became operational on the team at the end of April this year and it's already been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. We are on call 24/7, 365 days a year, and often the team's work can make the difference in finding someone in time and reuniting them with their families.
Being a completely voluntary organisation, we rely entirely on donations to fund team equipment, vehicles, medical supplies, and more. This equipment can make the difference in our ability to save a life or not, so even a few pounds is really meaningful. Thank you so much for getting this far, it's really appreciated and any donations would mean the world.
