In April 2022, I was part of the first ever AVF group to travel to Kenya, where we established a working partnership with Cherish School & the Cherish Exchange Foundation based in Nakuru (Kenya’s fourth largest city). This trip was a challenging volunteer experience which saw me and my fellow travellers help with teaching, sports coaching and building work at Cherish School. This provided us all with a fantastic opportunity to offer support & friendship to a truly deserving cause, while simultaneously being able to visit somewhere new & engage in a dynamic, highly-welcoming culture. To cut a long story short, my personal experience was one of the highlights of my life to date, which is one of the reasons why I have committed to return in October this year to continue to grow the partnership further still.

My fundraising campaign is two-fold: firstly to raise money needed for the trip itself, plus additional donations contributing towards Aston Villa Foundation's numerous community-based projects back in the West Midlands.
