Story
This weekend (2 August 2025), I’ll be attempting my first-ever marathon - with less than a week to train - in support of the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre (CBTRC).
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking about taking on a marathon and asked my followers on @nottinghamforestfanpage101 to help me choose a charity to support.
The CBTRC was the most popular choice. This amazing centre works tirelessly to stop brain tumours from shattering the lives of children and their families.
As a lifelong Nottingham Forest fan, I was especially moved by the story of 8-year-old James, who is currently fighting brain cancer. James has already raised money for this vital cause and even walked around the City Ground pitch with Morgan Gibbs-White. His strength and spirit really stuck with me, and running in support of him — and the CBTRC — feels like the right thing to do. It’s also great timing with James’ favourite player Gibbs-White just signing a new contract!
Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing the page, is massively appreciated! I’ll be posting updates on Instagram:
