We are BBC Make A Difference Awards winners!

Since 2016 I’ve hosted Chords Crush Cancer, a musical fundraiser in aid of a Shropshire cancer charity Lingen Davies Cancer Support, who looked after my mother before she passed away via breast cancer. I won the prestigious Errol Williams award from the charity in 2020 and was nominated ‘Community Ambassador of the year’ in 2022/23.

Chords Crush Cancer also scooped the ‘Community Champion’ award at the Shropshire Music Awards in 2024 and in September 2025 won the fundraiser award in the BBC Make A Difference Awards, which was an amazing experience and catapulted our fundraising to a huge new audience.

This win lead to a BBC interview with Gaby Roslin and Jon Bon Jovi which was aired across the BBC on Boxing Day!

Our 8th event took place in February 2024 and saw us go past £22,000 raised which coincided with the release of my self published book Memories of Margaret, which follows life growing up with mum, supporting her with cancer, and my fundraising journey in her memory.

At our 9th and final event entitled ‘The Last Dance’ we aim to go past £25,000 raised which would be an incredible legacy for her to have left behind.

We have an incredible evening lined up for you with five musical acts, a close up magician, a caricaturist, raffle and charity auction.
