Rosemere Cancer Foundation supports world-class care for the 70,000 people in Lancashire and South Cumbria currently living with cancer, by funding cutting-edge equipment, research, training, and patient welfare projects to make their cancer journey more effective, comfortable and stress-free.
Story
We’re Carrie, Clare and Louis, and in April 2027 we’ll be taking on the London Marathon for Rosemere Cancer Foundation — with people we love very much in our hearts.
For us, this is deeply personal.
Carrie’s mum is living with advanced cancer. Watching someone you love go through this is heartbreaking. You want to make things better, take away their pain and find some way to help, even when so much is beyond your control.
Clare lost her dad — Louis’s grandad — to cancer. He received cancer treatment through Rosemere, which makes this cause especially meaningful to their family. Running in his memory is a way to honour someone they miss so much, say thank you and give something back.
Our experiences are different, but we share the same wish: to turn our love, sadness and gratitude into something that can help others.
That’s why the three of us are taking on 26.2 miles together.
There will be early starts, long training runs and days when it feels difficult. On those days, we’ll remember the people we’re running for and the families facing so much more.
Alongside our training, we’ll be bringing our friends, families and gym community together through fundraising events to raise as much as we can for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
If you’re able to donate, whatever the amount, we would be so grateful. Every donation, every share and every word of encouragement will help us along the way.
For Carrie’s mum. In loving memory of Clare’s dad and Louis’s grandad. And for other families whose lives have been touched by cancer.
