Story

Dear friends and colleagues,

I lost my dad to complications from Parkinson’s in August 2025. The last year of his life was filled with many doctors, hospitals, scary procedures and complications.

What was most devastating was watching him slowly lose the ability to do all that he loved over the last few years of his life. Singing, playing piano, whistling, typing on his computer, sending messages to his kids across the globe, telling jokes.

In his memory, I'm taking part in a couple of physical challenges this year that will get me out of my comfort zone, since I am fortunate enough to be able to move my body freely.

First, I will tackle the National 3 Peaks on June 13 and 14. The National Three Peak Challenge involves climbing to the summit of three of the UK’s highest mountains - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), consecutively, one after another, as quickly as possible. The Three Peaks Challenge involves a total hiking distance of 37km (23 miles) and a total ascent of 3064 metres - plus over 450 miles of driving in between mountains added into the mix (the climbers do not drive).

Then, on September 6, I will take part in the Big Half 2026 taking place in London.

I am raising funds for Cure Parkinson's because they are here for the cure. And we need to eradicate this devastating disease.

Your donations will lead to the breakthrough we all want to see.

Together we will find a cure for Parkinson's.
