Hi, thanks for visiting my fundraising page! For those that don’t know me, I’m 36 and live in London with my husband, our two little girls, and our lovely old Lab. In July 2022, at the age of 33, just a week after my eldest’s 6th birthday, I was diagnosed with Her 2 positive breast cancer. There was no family history or genetic link; I was at my peak health and fitness levels. Cancer shattered our lives as we knew it, and I’ve been slowly piecing myself back together ever since.
Now through the other side, after 18 months of treatments and surgeries under my belt—including 12 rounds of chemotherapy, 36 hours of gruelling cold capping to maintain most of my hair, a mastectomy, 15 sessions of radiotherapy, two reconstruction surgeries, and a year’s worth of three-weekly immunotherapy injections—cancer has undeniably shaped my life and mindset. It has instilled in me the determination, grit, and stamina to embark on a trek across the Sahara Desert to raise funds for the incredible charity CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! promotes early detection as key to providing a higher chance of survival. I found my cancer early by knowing my body and checking for changes. This amazing charity campaigns for self-checking to become everyone’s normal practice from an early age. They are on a mission to encourage all 18-24 year-olds to be self checking to spot any changes. Without knowing what was normal for me, I know my story could have ended very differently.
🥾 About the trek 🥾
☀️ On November 8th, 2025, I will participate in CoppaTrek! Sahara Desert—a five-day trek covering 100km across sand dunes, valleys & gorges while averaging seven hours of trekking each day in extreme heat.
⛺️ We will have basic facilities while camping without electricity and enduring freezing night temperatures.
💪 We have been warned that this challenge will test us physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Breast cancer affects one in seven women and also impacts men; it does not discriminate. This is why CoppaFeel!’s message about knowing your normal is so vitally important—it must reach as many people as possible.
I have pledged to raise £3,000 for this vital cause. Every pound donated will make a difference in spreading awareness about breast cancer detection. Your support means the world to me as I prepare for this trek; I will be rereading your messages during my training and the trek for encouragement.
