Story

Ok, so I’m doing the Indian Himalaya trek! 5 days, around 3000 ish meters, camping at 0 degrees and no toilets!

As the CPH lead for bowel screening in Lanarkshire and the national bowel screening programme board chair I want to raise both funds for CRUK and awareness of the importance of regular participation in bowel screening.

For those of you who know me, this was not an easy decision, I’m not a camper, I like comfort and being away from my family will be a challenge. But I’m in a unique position to raise the profile of bowel cancer and bowel screening and this seems like a great opportunity.

While I don’t support patients personally, I see the numbers of people coming through with bowel cancers and I see the benefit of the bowel screening programme in prevention of bowel cancer or early diagnosis.

I would love to persuade more people to participate.

All donations will be paid to Cancer Research UK a registered charity in England and Wales, Scotland ( SC041666).
