The Taxi Charity For Military Veterans (formerly known as the London Taxi Benevolent Association For War Disabled) was formed in Fulham in 1948. Its object then was to help war veterans, in their homes and hospitals, throughout London and the home counties, by providing entertainment, outings and much needed specialised equipment. Our aim now is simple: to work for the benefit, comfort and enjoyment of military veterans, to the best of our ability. For our annual Worthing outing, we now collect veterans from all over London, including the Royal Hospital Chelsea and other Veterans' Homes, as well as those who still live in their own homes. This amounts to over 300 ex-service men and women and over 130 taxis. In order to fund these outings, we seek donations from the general public and organisations, and we rely on volunteer London licensed taxi drivers to provide their taxis and time for free.

Story

This September, a group of children and parents from Port Regis had the incredible opportunity to visit Arnhem during the commemorations of Operation Market Garden in Arnhem. We were incredibly fortunate to meet Veterans from WW2 as well as individuals from the Dutch community in Arnhem who's lives were impacted by the events in 1944.

Witnessing the profound connection between the veterans and the Dutch community — and hearing firsthand stories from 1944 — was a moving and unforgettable experience. These brave men, and the people who welcomed them from the local community, have endured so much. Their courage, sacrifice, and resilience left a lasting impression on us all.

Inspired to give back, we've decided to take on a tandem parachute jump to raise money for the Taxi Charity. This wonderful organisation provides invaluable support to military veterans, offering companionship, transport, and opportunities to return to the places that shaped their lives.

Please support us as we jump in honour of those whose lives were forever changed by the events in Arnhem. Every donation helps preserve their legacy and supports the veterans who gave so much.

Thank you for your support.
