Up until last May, this trip was not on my bucket list. That all changed when we went away for a weekend with friends from university. One of our friends, Nigel, then asked me would I be interested doing the Mount Everest Base Camp (MEBC) trek. After half a minute consideration, I said yes I would. The idea of seeing Mount Everest (from a distance) excited me and I was surprised this was not already on my list!

I know it will be a challenge. I like challenges and pushing myself. We need to get out of our comforts zones to see what is possible. I think the trek will be good to slow down and help me refocus on what is important and get rid off things holding me back.

It will also be a physical and mental challenge, which I am looking forward to.

Bridgend Centre. I wanted to support a local charity that was involved with Dementia or Alzheimer's patients and carers. Besides my mum, I know a number of people who have been impacted by these conditions. Having to deal with my mum, I know how important it is for the patients but also for the carers to be supported. Bridgend Centre does this.
