Ceri's fundraiser for Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity

Ceri Hunnybun is raising money for Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity

Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 · 4 October 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

We offer grants to young people aged 15-35 in Wales who have been diagnosed with cancer. The grants help pay for petrol, wigs, bills and childcare. We believe that the cost of living with cancer is too high and nobody going through so much should have to worry about these things x diolch x

Story

Myself, my husband Russell and brother in law Ben are running the Cardiff half marathon on October 4th to raise money for the Sir Gareth Edwards cancer charity.

October the 4th will mark almost a year since I finished 4 months of chemotherapy following my own cancer diagnosis, and what a way to mark it by running a half marathon and hopefully raising some money for this wonderful charity.

The Sir Gareth Edwards charity provided me and my family with a grant which helped support us financially to cover childcare during the time of treatment. We also received two sets of lovely pyjamas for our two boys, a lovely personal touch which put the biggest smiles on their faces, a priceless feeling during some difficult times.

The financial and personal support provided by the charity to young people with cancer is invaluable and we would love to give back.
