"Running for Homes, Running for Hope" 🏃♂️🏠
I'm thrilled to announce that I’ll be running the 2025 London Marathon, but this isn’t just any race for me—it's a mission. 🏅
I’m running in support of Elly Hoult, the current President of the Chartered Institute of Housing, and to raise vital funds for her chosen charity Barnardo’s, an organisation that’s on the front line of a crisis affecting thousands of children right now.
The reality is staggering: 151,630 children were living in temporary accommodation in the first three months of 2024. That’s the highest number ever recorded. These kids aren’t just statistics—they’re young lives disrupted by instability, growing up in conditions that threaten their health, education, and future.
Barnardo’s is working tirelessly to change this. They’re not just providing immediate relief; they’re fighting to secure safe, stable homes for families in desperate need. And they need our help.
This is where you come in.
By sponsoring my marathon run, you’re directly contributing to Barnardo’s essential work. Your donation will help give thousands of children the stability and security they deserve—a place to call home. 🏠
Elly Hoult, who inspired me to take on this challenge, said it best: “Every child deserves a safe place to call home. Knowing that so many are growing up without this basic security is heartbreaking. We can make a difference, together.”
Join me on this journey—let’s run for homes, and run for hope.
Barnardo's helps hundreds of thousands of children, young people, parents and carers across the UK. They don't abandon children because of who they are or what they've done. They listen to them, fight for their rights and do whatever it takes to protect and support them because they believe that all children have the right to a happy and healthy life. At a time when more young people need specialist help with complex issues like sexual abuse, mental health problems and serious violence, their work is more vital than ever.
