Ceri is running the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of Cardiff Foodbank

Ceridwen Wilson is raising money for Cardiff Foodbank

Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 · 4 October 2026 ·

Food insecurity is now a frightening, daily reality for far too many people. Right now, many are facing an impossible choice between paying the rent, heating their homes or buying food. It shouldn't be this way. No one should need a food bank to survive. No one in Cardiff should go hungry.

Story

As many of you know I have been volunteering on a regular basis at Cardiff Foodbank for the past 10 years. Since that time donations have decreased and demand has increased. So this year I am running Cardiff Half to raise much needed funds. We want to see a Cardiff where no one goes hungry. We provide individuals and families with parcels of 3-day emergency food and essentials. We also work with lots of agencies across to provide support, training and upskilling as well as signposting to debt and budgeting advice.

Last year we provided 20,150 emergency food parcels, this represents a 37% increase on 5 years ago.

We know the politics need to change but the day to day reality is that Foodbanks provide a lifeline to those who really need it in that moment.

Please support me in supporting this cause as no adult or child should go hungry in Cardiff in 2026.

Thank you
