Mae gwaith Ambiwlans Awyr Cymru yn hollol amhrisadwy, fel wnaethon ni fel teulu brofi yn ddiweddar iawn. Heb gofal cyflym, y driniaeth a’r daith i Ysbyty Athrofaol Caerdydd, mae’n bosib fyddai’r canlyniadau wedi bod yn wahanol iawn i fy mrawd, wedi ei ddamwain. Mi fuodd yn ffodus iawn o’r penderfyniadau slic wnaeth y staff a’i gludo i Gaerdydd lle wnaeth treulio 17 diwrnod ar y Ward Niwrowyddorau Gofal Uchel.

Felly, er mwyn dangos fy ngwerthfawrogiad iddynt am ei presenoldeb i diwrnod hynny, dwi Wedi penderfynu rhedeg Hanner Marathon Caerdydd ar y 1af o Hydref. Fel rhywun sydd ddim yn un am redeg, mi fydd hyn yn sialens, ond mae’n bwysig rhoi yn nôl i’r gwasanaeth yma sy’n achub bywydau yn ddyddiol! Fyddai ein cymunedau a’n gwlad llawer tlotach heb y gwasanaeth yma!

The work undertaken by the Welsh Air Ambulance is totally priceless, as we discovered recently as a family. Without their prompt care, treatment and transportation to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, it could’ve been a very different story for my brother following his accident. Their quick decision making enabled him to be transported safely to the Heath where he spent 17 days on the Neuroscience High Care Ward.

To show my appreciation for their work, I have decided to run the Cardiff Half Marathon on the 1st of October. As a complete novice to running, this will be a challenge, however it is vitally important to give back to such a worthy cause who save lives daily! Our communities and country would be much poorer without the service!
