Myself (Cerys), Lauren and Liv and are running the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for the Family Centre (Deaf Children) in Bristol — a brilliant local charity that supports deaf children and their families.

As a hearing older sibling to a deaf sister, I have experienced first hand how important it is for families like ours to feel connected, understood, and supported. Charities like FCDC are a lifeline — they raise awareness, provide inclusive spaces, and bring families together.

FCDC provides fun, inclusive events, British Sign Language (BSL) classes, peer support, and advocacy to help families feel connected and empowered. They create safe spaces where deaf children can build confidence, make friends, and develop a strong sense of identity.
